A Custom Mobile Office Designed for Community Outreach
Every detail inside this custom outreach van was intentionally designed to maximize usability for both staff members and community visitors.
Inside the van, Three 36-inch-wide workstations are positioned on either side of the interior, creating a productive and collaborative workspace for workforce representatives and visitors alike. In the front cabin area, smart swivel seats paired with a Lagun table mount create an additional flexible workstation, allowing the team to easily adapt the space throughout the day.
The galley area is fully equipped with laptops and portable seating, giving community members a comfortable and accessible space to apply for jobs, connect with workforce programs, complete paperwork, or receive one-on-one assistance directly inside the van.
Toward the rear of the vehicle, the build features a tall storage cabinet, built-in counter space, Microwave, refrigerator, and an integrated sink with a water tank conveniently installed beneath the cabinetry — providing both functionality and storage for day-to-day outreach operations.
Off-Grid Power for Reliable Mobile Operations
Because this Mobile Outreach Unit is designed to travel throughout the Central Valley, reliable off-grid power was essential.
The van is equipped with a high-performance lithium battery system discreetly installed beneath the cabinetry. This system powers multiple onboard amenities including:
- Motion-activated lighting
- Refrigerator
- Microwave
- Attic fan
- Air Conditioner
- Workspace electronics
- Additional onboard utilities
To support extended off-grid use, the van also features four ZAMP 90W solar panels mounted on the roof, allowing the system to continuously recharge while traveling or parked at outreach events.
Built to Handle the Central Valley Heat
One of the most important considerations for this build was ensuring comfort during California’s extreme summer temperatures.
To help keep both staff and visitors cool, the van is equipped with a Velit 12V Air Conditioning system capable of operating efficiently even during the intense Central Valley heat. This allows the Mobile Outreach Unit to comfortably serve the community year-round while maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.
