This Summit S3 is far from your average build—it’s actually the owners’ second Field Van, thoughtfully customized to match their lifestyle. From improved accessibility to added seating for their grandchildren, every detail was designed with intention. One of the biggest priorities was easy entry and exit, which is why this van is equipped with power running boards that automatically deploy, creating a smooth and secure step up into the vehicle—especially helpful when traveling with kids.
It also features a versatile track floor system that allows for 2–3 additional jump seats to be added when needed. Whether it’s a quiet trip for two or an adventure with the grandkids, the layout easily adapts—officially securing their title as the coolest grandparents by a landslide.
Smart Kitchen + Bathroom Combo
Maximizing space without compromising comfort is at the heart of great van design, and this layout does exactly that.
A fold-down countertop instantly creates a generous prep area when needed, while a convertible sink cover expands the workspace even further. To round it out, the build includes a large 130L refrigerator and a microwave oven, making it easy to store fresh ingredients and enjoy home-cooked meals on the road. Since we have a full kitchen, it only makes sense to have a full bath. Our compact bathroom design —complete with a shower curtain and bifold door—offers easy, functional access without taking up unnecessary room.
Altogether, it’s a smart, efficient setup that delivers the convenience of a full kitchen and bathroom without ever feeling cramped.
Custom Storage Solutions Throughout + Ideal Sleeping Setup
Storage is essential in van life, and “Big Shorty” truly delivers with a variety of smart, functional solutions. This build features custom bench seating with hidden magnetic storage, additional Van Wife hanging storage bags, overhead cabinetry, and a spacious rear garage area. A 48-inch sliding tray also makes it easy to access gear and luggage on the go. With a place for everything, packing, unpacking, and everyday living becomes seamless and efficient.
When it’s time to wind down, this van transforms into a nearly king-size sleeping space thanks to a bed extension system.
