This early adaptability played a pivotal role in shaping the man who would become the "Van Guy" of his high school years.Alan's entrepreneurial journey began at an age of 8 when he sold pretzels at the local fair. This early venture taught him valuable lessons in customer service and marketing, laying the

When Alan received his first car in high school, a Toyota Corolla station wagon, it didn't take long for him to trade it in for a Dodge Tradesman 100 van. With its eye-catching orange color and a bold black stripe, this van became his canvas for creativity and marked the inception of his first-ever van build.
In 1988, Alan was introduced to van life and felt compelled to bring this unique lifestyle to
California. He made a bold move by flying to Texas to purchase 20 vans, kickstarting the van life movement on the West Coast. The company's growth was rapid, with the demand for vans
surpassing their capacity within six months. Fuelled by traditional marketing tactics such as
word-of-mouth, trade shows, and flyers on vans, Alan and his team left an undeniable mark on
the van life community.
In 2020, as the contract with the old company expired, Alan and his team saw an opportunity to embark on a new adventure. Thus, Field Van was born. With a strong team of 80 dedicated
individuals, Field Van continues to uphold the same traditions, experiences, and philosophies
that made them pioneers in the industry.
