Overland Expo West is one of the largest events of its kind anywhere in the world. It showcases anything and everything that involves vehicle dependent camping and traveling. There are hundreds of vendor booths to visit and purchase gear from, education classes you can sign up for, food, music, good times, and great people!
What really sets this event apart from a typical trade show is the on-site camping. Vendors are camping in their booths throughout the venue, often times showcasing the usefulness of their product by using it for the weekend during the Expo. There is also a large connected campground that allows for visitors to stay on site, mingle with the vendors after hours and enjoy a campfire type of atmosphere sharing stories of places travelled and challenges bested.
Our company has been a title sponsor of this event since the inception (when it was just a couple hundred crazy campers out in a field showing off their rigs). Because of this we don't have the typical vendor booth you might think of, but rather a "Field of Dreams" section of the show with a few acres to invite our customers to come out and camp with us. The Field of Dreams camp area is a place to meet other van owners and see some of the new products we are offering. Morning coffee and breakfast at camp starts the day and then people disperse to experience all the Expo has to offer. When the trade show hours end happy hour begins. Happy Hour involves our crew and customers sharing food, drinks, and stories around camp while listening to live music from some great talent!
To sum it up the Overland Expo is an event like no other. While most of us buy a Field Van to get away from crowds, the Expo is a place for us to gather and enjoy the company of like-minded individuals.
